Lady Reds’ Muessig and teammates recognized

   As reward for its successful season, Paw Paw’s 2019 girls soccer team is racking up post-season honors.
   Five members of the team made the Wolverine Conference all-star teams. Claudia Muessig, team leader in goals and assists was selected to the First Team, her third consecutive year on this select group of athletes.  
   Kate Nelson, an Honorable Mention selection as a freshman, moved up to Second Team status this season. She was among the team’s leaders in assists.
   Lillian Fulcher, defender Cara  Deming, and goalkeeper Rachel Babcock were all Honorable Mention selections for the second straight year.
   Muessig, a junior, has also been named a member of the girls soccer All-State teams. She was selected to the Division 3 Honorable Mention squad. She also was on the list as a sophomore, and her freshman season was on the third team.
   Muessig has also been named to the All-Regional First Team and All-District First Team.
   Nelson and teammate Kailie Yarbrough join her on the All-District First Team, while Deming, Babcock, Fulcher, Kaylee Eick, Anna Glomski, and Baylee Smith were all named All-District Second Team.
   Most Improved Player honors went to Leandra Vantzelfde.
