Richmond leads Paw Paw girls in early runs

   THREE RIVERS - Paw Paw High School’s fall cross country season kicked off last Tuesday at the Three Rivers Big Hill Invitational. A pair of top notch returning Redskin harriers had impressive starts to the season.
   The girls came in fourth of the 11 teams competing. Hannah Richmond completed the course in 21:23, good for third place overall. Anna Richmond followed in 13th place (23:54), and MaKayle Weedon (24:23) finished 18th.
   The boys took the fifth spot out of nine teams running. Jonah Maichele recorded an 18:31 finish for second place. Austin Williford was the next Paw Paw runner over the finish line at 20:52 (29th) and teammate Alex LaRue was close behind at 20:56 (30th).


   At Lawrence last Friday, Jonah Maichele’s 16:33.3 clocking was good for the first place medal and helped the Paw Paw boys finish in the runner-up position at the Early Bird Invitational. Austin Williford finished ninth (19:26), and Alex LaRue was 14th (19:51.6).
   The host Tigers claimed the boys trophy. Isaiah Beiter’s second place finish (17:39.9) was closely followed by Alan Macyauski in third (17:50.8). Charles DeGraves took eighth place (18:30.2).
   The Paw Paw girls won the meet, with Hannah Richmond clocking a first-place 19:57.4. Anna Glomski took third (21:28.5), and Makayle Weedon was fourth (21:32.). Taylor Meir followed with a 22:47.2 timing. 
   Top runner for the Lady Tigers was Madeline Madsen, who completed the course in 22:31.9.
