Gobles pounds Bloomingdale, 17-4

   Last Thursday afternoon, Gobles baseball team scored six runs in the first inning enroute to a 17-4 pounding of Bloomingdale. 
   Gabe Miller doubled to score the first run of the game for Gobles. Jake Getman had a good day at the plate, driving in four runs on two hits. Getman had a double in the first and a single in the sixth, as the Tigers racked up 15 hits in the game to run away with the win. 
   Gobles’ Alex Tyrell was 4-4 at the plate with three RBI, Trevor King went 3-5 with two doubles and three RBI, and Kevin Heard, 2-4 with a triple and two RBI. 
   Hunter Tenbusschen was the winner in the circle, going 3.1 innings and  allowing three hits.  Josh Lopez came in as relief to pitch 2.2 innings with one hit.
   In the second game of the afternoon, the Tigers’ bats were still hot, and they continued to belt out 16 hits for an 18-8 win over the Cardinals. 
   Tenbusschen was 2-2 at the plate with two RBI and three walks.  Getman was 3-3 (DBL); Miller, 2-4 (DBL); Brady Burnell, 3-5 with 3 RBI;  Tyrell, 2-2; and Caleb Brady, 2-3 (DBL). On the mound, Miller allowed three hits in 0.2 innings, and Josh Lopez pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 5 hits.

   On Tuesday night, the Tigers played Galesburg-Augusta in two five-inning games, one win and one loss.
   The Tigers were game-on as they had nine hits and good pitching to win the opener, 7-0.
   Jake Getman pitched four innings with no hits before giving the ball to Hunter Tenbusschen for one more inning with 0 hits for the shut out.
   Gabe Miller was 2-3 at the plate for Gobles. Trevor King went 2-2 (triple) and Brady Burnell, 2-3.
   In the second game of the night, the Tigers were up just 1-0 going into the third inning before Galesburg-Augusta scored five runs in the fourth. The Tigers could not answer back and lost, 6-3. Caleb Brady was on the mound for Gobles, pitching five innings, allowing seven hits, and striking out five batters.  
   The Tigers had three hits in the game, one each by Miller, Getman and Lopez.
