Dear Editor,
Every month Eleanor’s Pantry receives gifts that enable us to continue providing a once-a-month, three-to four-day emergency supply of food for our food insecure neighbors in Paw Paw and Lawton.  Recently, we have helped between 900 and 1,000 people each month. So, your gifts do, indeed, make a difference.
Thank you to those of you who helped us during the Wine and Harvest Festival.  MANY people volunteered to pour wine for Eleanor’s Pantry at St. Julian during the three-day festival. Your time and effort are so appreciated, as you will earn us a substantial donation from St. Julian.
In addition, we thank Kathy and Walgreens for providing us with beautiful new posters, which were on display. Donations were made by visitors to the festival as well.  “Peanut Butter” and “Jelly” received money from the Beer Tent; and “Milk” joined them along the parade route. Omni Credit Union helped us by collecting Family Fare receipts. It takes $150,000.00 in receipts to earn us $1,000.00 from Spartan Nash. The $4,000.00 in receipts from Omni starts us on our way.   And, yes, we are continuing to collect receipts to reach this goal.
For the sixth year, the Freedom Riders motorcycle group held their annual “Run for the Pantry” event.  As always, these members were generous in their donations to the pantry.
Your continued generosity makes a huge difference.
    Thank you,
    Nellie DeLong
