George B. Beyerle

George B. Beyerle, 88, of Kalamazoo, died peacefully,  June 1, 2019. George was born March 2, 1931, in Pottsville, PA, the only son of George and Mary (Reiter) Beyerle.
A graduate of Penn State University, and a lifelong fan of Penn State football, he enjoyed a career of more than 25 years working for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as a Fisheries Research Biologist. This was perfect for George as he was a lifelong fisherman, fishing all over the United States and the world.
He was also a cryptologist while serving in the United States Army and a railroad enthusiast. In fact, he’d often sit by the railroad tracks waiting for special trains to come through. He even tracked the model and engine numbers of many locomotives through the years.
Surviving are his loving wife, Julia, “Judy”; and two brothers-in-law, Walter (Judith) Zischke and Lester Zischke.
Visit with family and friends while sharing food and refreshments, Sunday, June 9, from 11 to 1 p.m. at Betzler Life Story Funeral Home, 6080 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, (269) 375-2900. Burial with military honors will take place Monday,  June 10, at  10 a.m. at Almena Township Cemetery.
Visit George’s personal web page at: www.BetzlerLifeStory.com, to  archive a favorite memory and sign his online guestbook.
Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Village for benefit of the Employee Appreciation Fund.
