Paw Paw plans May parade and possible July ceremony

PAW PAW - Paw Paw Public Schools has announced plans with a timeline for its upcoming Class of 2020 graduation ceremony, according to Paw Paw High School Principal Tammy Southworth.
“After looking over the survey results and talking with officials about timelines for safe activities, here is our current plan,” said Southworth.
•May 29 - Scheduled times: diploma pick up and official cap and gown picture taken. Graduating seniors  are asked to bring   their caps and gowns for this. An e-mail for seniors’ scheduled times will be sent out the week of May 18.
•May 29 - 7 p.m.: Parade of seniors. Vehicles may be decorated and  will meet at Paw Paw High School, then parade to  Falan Field at Paw Paw Middle School.
•May 29 - 8:20 p.m.: Falan Field football stadium will be lit in honor of the Paw Paw High Class of 2020, on their official graduation day.
•July 10 - 7 p.m.: Graduation ceremony with a location to be determined, based on safety guidelines at that time. (Falan Field is preferred).
Southworth said, “We will likely have to follow some protocols for ‘safe distancing’ and limit the number of spectators. The exact format will be determined by current guidelines at that time, but our plan is as a traditional, though delayed, ceremony.”
