PATH Volunteer Leader Training to be offered in Paw Paw

Region IV Area Agency on Aging will offer PATH (Personal Action Toward Health) Volunteer Leader Training at the Berkshire Apartments, 308 E. Michigan Avenue in Paw Paw, beginning March 3. The Leader Training is an opportunity for those interested to become a volunteer workshop leader. PATH is a six-week program that teaches practical skills for living a healthy life with Chronic Conditions. The workshop focuses on self-care, learning new coping strategies and sharing personal experiences with other group members. PATH workshop leaders provide participants with the beliefs and skills they need to manage their long-term health conditions and live a healthier life.
Volunteer PATH Leaders experience the satisfaction of changing lives with a proven effective program. You will receive specialized training and easy-to-use instructional materials, learn new skills, gain valuable experience in health self-management program delivery, and make a difference in the lives of people in the community. The four-day training is a one-time commitment. After the training, the Leaders are asked to facilitate at least one, six-week workshop a year.
This free four-day training will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 3, 5, 10, and 12.  For more information or to register for the training, call Julie Schwarz at (269) 982-7759 or e-mail her at:
